Check the outlet with an ammeter and a hair dryer. You need a load! Make sure the current is correct and not a neutral issue of the inverter or wiring.

I have a hair dryer that I know the current on. I also use this in split phase to make sure the 2 legs add to the correct current. Test that there is not a parallel path or earthing issue. If there is you will get a lower than normal reading of current.

* On the circuit, place one probe of a voltmeter on the active conductor (load side of the RCD or circuit breaker). * Place the other probe on the main panel neutral bar. You should see your 120vac. This will show neutral continuity.

Weird ones... Good Luck !

Wrenches,

I've got a new neighbor here living in an off-grid home with a system of mine. She has a 2017 Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid.
It draws 12A on high setting or 8 Amps at 120VAC.
It charges fine off my homes VFX 3524OutBack but on her homes FX 2524 OutBack the charger indicator at the male cord plug end immediately goes Red and won't charge at all. Manufacturers label at the indicator light says it could be a ground problem. Both the outlet that does operate the charger fine and the one that gives the red signal are GFCI. The GFCI that works is over ten years old while the outlet that won't charge is new if that makes a difference. The new outlet that won't charge operates other loads just fine and I measure 121 VAC with my Fluke.

Thanks for your time,
