Friends: I was pleasantly surprised to get a call-back from Outback with a familiar voice this morning.
The inverter has been charging to only 52 VDC at no more than 700 watts since new. I had blamed the 3kW portable generator. We installed a new Kohler 12 kW Gen and the problem continued. I had tried all the suggestions to change re-bulk and re-float and even reset to factory defaults. Nothing helped. The OB tech suggested setting the Gen input to Backup and…. problem solved. I don’t know why but I won’t argue with success. Curiously I have another almost identical system that charges just fine on Generator setting. If anyone can explain this I’d really like to know.
