Regarding Victron. They have a different model than many companies. Their
distributors handle the tech support. So, it's important when buying
victron components to evaluate how knowledgeable and available the
distributor is. If soneone buys off of Amazon or a cheap internet
retailer, I would expect to have to figure out all out on their own. If
you have a good relationship with your victron dealer, you could probably
get them to handle support and warranty for inherited systems like this, if
you do enough business with them for new sales. They can also help you
with the details of what monitor does what... victron unfortunately or
fortunately has a dizzying array of options, and I am always calling my
distributor to ask what the various options really do :P I do like Roy's
suggestions on monitoring, but also one thing I've found is that you must
have a windows laptop to do some of the programming for the inverters --
cannot do it via any other method of computer onsite or remote or victron
control panel.

For OpticsRE... it is working for me today, but they have yet to email me
my data files, I requested them yet again yesterday. Like many have said,
Outback appears to be dying a slow painful death as a company :(
