Joshua, with your version of reactor you supplied indeed that error does exist but with the version 224 from SVN no error (I tried at least with 3 different versions and all worked out)!
Try to get that version and check if it works for you. Don't forget that Doug is commiting changes so you shouldn't get the Head version. Maybe I missed this in the docs. The reason I ask is that I can try to use createRecord() on any other table in the db and I get the same error. The only one that seems to work is the User table.
