[Reactor for CF] sql date functions

This is totally off toopic but I can not solve this one. I need to compare an odbc datetime to a users input date

so here is the comparision

2006-07-25 17:08:41.147 compare to 07/25/2006

I have been looking at various sql functions conver,cast,date extration methods but just can not figure out a clean way to do this. If there was not time I ould usually use createODBCDate() against the users input but i wont know the time at the time i need to convert it. Sorry to bother everyone. Thanks
