I suppose that makes sense. Although access to the config object’s get methods are useful for debugging, calling it’s set methods in a running application could cause weird results J

Very true.   It may be more of a code practice to have configuration methods as private to the framework rather than to suggest the config being stateful.  I am not sure that makes sense.  The fact that something is private should alert the developer that it is meant for internal consumption rather than data to be exposed outside.
