I don't think Reactor would be the right place to implement this.
Creating a separate cfc (or collection of them) for your ajax
functionality would seem to be the better way to do this.  They don't
need to be complex, just wrappers for reactor methods that format the
data as you want it for your ajax responses.  This way you're not tied
to reactor.

If you did want to look into extending reactor, take a look in the
reactor/plugins directory.  I've never played with plugins, but it seems
like you might be able to write a plugin that extended ajaxCFC if you
wanted.
