We can. There really aren't many issues, and they're interwoven, so I've been thinking of July 31 as the end-date for all. The issues at this point are ( https://sourceforge.net/p/readable/wiki/Current/ ): 1. Precise semantics and syntax for GROUP, and related syntactical concepts like SPLICE/SPLIT and ENLIST. Status: Heavy discussion and debate 2. "." as "whitespace" in indentation Status: Provisionally Accepted 3.QUOTE et al. + blank/tab in indentation-expressions Status: Minor discussion The good news is that we have reasonable options; nothing makes things impossible. > Do we vote on things? How do we vote (approval voting, maybe? rank voting?)? I'd like to *avoid* voting, actually, and have everyone work to convince everyone else based on merits, and try to work towards rough consensus. Your analysis of use cases & physical appearance is a nice example of thinking through the options to find merits. If we focus on identifying pros & cons it'll be a lot easier to move towards a reasonable answer where we can achieve rough consensus. --- David A.
