Turns out it was a one-line change in our implementation.  I've made the change 
in the "develop" branch and pushed it out.  It can probably be simplified 
greatly, but let's first briefly try it out to make sure we want to do it.

Since from sweet-expressions we *already* use this functionality, I don't 
foresee any problem.
