Yep. I run RB2006r1 on Windows. I have projects with lots of external items (unencrypted, as XML), and currently only the ODBC plugin. But even before using the ODBC plugin I was experiencing lots of crashes. Often in the exact same way you describe (compile. crash. restart. compile. no problems. etc..).
It's nuts. Also, I rarely get any sort of crash log. Mostly RB just dies silently. It's extraordinarily frustrating.
