Well, how about a terminal application (or e.g. a MUD client) where you
want to assign a special function/macro (navigation) to the numbers
keypad. So e.g. both "1" keys will have a different meaning.
It is not possible in the KeyDown event of the Editfield to recognize
which key was pressed.
The keyboard.async* functions will not help much since
- events will not recognized when the app is busy
- the polling may see several events when the key is pressed once for a
longer time
- and it does not queue key events.
I wrote a feature request a long time ago (in the old bug base) to have
an alternate KeyDown event where the keycode is available.
