definitely check out rbvexim. i've been using it for the last few weeks, and it has been working great. i used to use cvs and external RB xmls, but if you ever try to diff/merge in a text editor, you will appreciate the much more human readable format of rbvexim.

If you are looking at cvs on the mac, check out CVL. http:// www.sente.ch/software/cvl/ its a simple, easy, clean (and most importantly to me --- its not java!!!!) cvs gui.
