Hi all,

I am surprised that this subject doesn't seem to be a big issue here.
I have very negative experiences of Xcode, and many people I know
share this view. It is slow, crashes often, has a quirky way to report
errors, and a horrible user interface in general.
I have yet to see XCode (I or II) crash... or even OS X for that
matter. The last time I saw a kernel panic was back in the 10.1 days.
As for slow, it seems no worse than RB (but that may just be because
I don't use many RB plugins...)
I don't know about 'quirky' - it's no worse than any other
compiler/IDE I've come across.
It would be neat though, if - in IB - you could click on a control
and have the code open in XCode, sorta like in RB... :)
One thing I did like about CW was the class browser. I'd like to see
something like this in RB! Or at least an option to 'filter' the
auto-fill list for
* All (all methods of this object and any super)
* Super only (only methods in the immediate super)
* All Super (only methods in any super)
* Me only (only methods defined in the current class)
A window widget would be nice, or something like the selector (?)
control for a Window (so you can view either the window layout, or the
code.)
It seems as if we will not see CodeWarrior for Intel-Macs. IMHO, this
is a disaster.
CodeWarrior is a nice, intuitive and mature development system.
Without it, it will no longer be possible to use the Mac as primary
development platform. Without professional-level development tools, it
will be a minor platform that you port to, but not develop for.
Is nobody trying to convince Apple to sponsor Metrowerks to make an
Intel-Mac version?
Very tired,
Nils
