So you can see I may be a little miffed that I've been removed
because I don't deem any of the recent releases good enough for my
day to day use.

You can't have it both ways:
Either sign up for a subscription, use the betas and jump on a
release that suits your needs.
Or wait to eval a release that's right for you.
The subscription is just like buying a ticket to ride a train. You
need a ticket to ride even if the next stop isn't the one you're
destined for.
