Yes but how do you actually extract it for reuse?

Tried:

        mybool = exporter.requestSettings()
        ImageQualitySettings = exporter.SettingsDescription

....where ImageQualitySettings is s string. It does not seem to do anything, and I'm trying to e-use it for a series of images, with a basic file name and an added index. Very annoying having to reset a dialog every time a new file is to be saved. Even worse is that the TIF, TGA and PhotoShop settings are incorrect and therefore generates an incorrect result.

Define them once and save them to some preferences file.

Ok, you can set quality in code, but different codecs have different
settings and the one fits all setting is not really possible.
