Hi all,

This is a simple report on the use of a Linux REALbasic generated application.

The Linux flavor is slax 5.0.7b burned from the .ISO on a CD-RW.

I've booted using "startx".

The REALbasic application was generated using REALbasic 5.5.5 Pro _AND_ REALbasic 2005r4 Pro from a Macintosh laptop (PowerBook 15" 1.5GHZ / 8-2004) and placed on a Memory Stick (Windows formatted).

Once on the Linux desktop, I double-cliked on both applications:

a. they both are recognized as "Executable File",

b. for both I get a "locate window" to get the application to "Open with"...

If I choose the "REALbasic Standard for Linux" application in the Pentium IV internal hard disk or in the Memory Stick I get the same answer: "You can only select local files."

Just to know what will happens, I choosed an application from the hard disk (KolourPaint) and get something like: "Unable to open the document, it may be corrupted". Of course, the KolourPaint application knows only image files ;)

It is late now, so I will try to install slack on a hard disk and try to start from there, then try to run "REALbasic2006".

BTW: I forget to mention that the application "REALbasic2006" cannot be runned too: same bad window that ask me the "Know application to use to Open it with..." :(

Regards,

Emile

PS: the icons in slax are very nice
