Four years ago, I found a college student via this list, and paid him
to write a plugin for my Wacom tablet, to detect pen pressure (in
addition to the usual X-Y values).
It ran fine on RB 2.x, and MacOS 8 or 9.
Soon thereafter he said he was too busy to write the Windows version.
Now I'm trying to revive the project, in OSX 10.4.3.
I put the plugin into the Plugins folder at the same level as my
current RB 5.5.4.
I try to run in debug mode, and get an error re variable definition:
Tablet as WacomTablet
"There is no class with this name"
I update the Build Settings to OSX, and try compiling; same error.
Possibilities I can think of are
-- the plugin is dependent on old RB, or old OS;
-- I am doing something wrong
I still want both a Mac and a Windows version of a plugin to get pen pressure.
I am a total rookie at anything about plugins except following the
instructions for using them. The fellow sent files for Code Warrior,
including a header file that Wacom provides; it also requires a
plugin called "Plugin Starter" from Tomas Templeman. All this is way
over my head.
QUESTIONS:
-- Does such a critter already exist? I looked at all the resources
in the RB Community and did not find anything. If yes, a pointer
would be much appreciated.
-- Is anyone on this list besides me interested in getting such a
cross-platform feature for a Wacom tablet? I want the Mac version to
run on OS 8/9 too. We could share costs.
-- Would any plugin programmer be interested in looking at the code I
have, and seeing whether it can be fixed/used, and doing the update
work, for pay?
Thanks,
Jeb Eddy
