the language itself (Powerbasic) isn't bad, not the worse BASIC dialect i've
seen and it does seem pretty fast from benchmarks i've read. however, the
IDE in my opinion could be much more intuitive...it's basically an editor
that can call a compiler right now...with some powerbasic addons. you'll
need to get Powerforms for a good visual form designer.
Once you have all the tools (and get a 3rd part IDE (like Lynx at
http://www.zippety.net/) and an editor...then it becomes a bit more fun to
use as a language...but it's certainly not a multiplatform tool. And still
not as user friend as RB is. I've used it at a friend who happens to have
powerbasic...this is how i know...:-)...not as visual either...in other
words, not as proficient and fun as using RB. not database tools, no
intrinsic support for some Db designers and tools...alot of holes in the
definition of IDE per se. But the language benchmarks are impressive.
before you ask, i'm not paid to say this hehe....just my honest observations
and things i've read on forums about it. :-).

Subject: PowerBasic for Windows
While doing a Search on Google for basic I found PowerBasic for Windows,
it looks quite good for Windows only development, has anyone used it?
