There is a tendency among people, not just on this list, but still
markedly so here too, not to manifest any interest until the goods are

Most people are ready to consume, but few roll up their collective
sleeves to help kick-start a project.

I often see the opposite effect: many are quick to express interest, but few get out their checkbooks when it comes time to commit.

But at any rate, the very FIRST thing that would need to be decided is: what should the topic be? So far, I've gotten... let's see... zero specific requests for any particular topic. People have said they want it to be "hands on" and "in depth," but if anybody actually said what topics they want to learn, I must have missed it. Surely those with serious interest don't want to spend this sort of time and money just for a general "how to program in RB" workshop?

I can see a course targeted at programmers who want a high-speed introduction to REALbasic. They might want a two-day course that covers the IDE, the language, the framework, and other topics of interest to people planning to get to work, like version control.

Another possibility would be a course aimed at amateur programmers with disposable income. Here; you ask people to show up with a computer and some idea of a project, and attempt to help them get started.
