We spent way too long trying to crack this particular nut (yes, that
specific drawer no less) without success. As it was explained to me,
this drawer is billed as HID compliant, but it isn't *really* 100%
compliant, and the percent that is missing makes it extremely
difficult to address the drawer as an HID.
For us, time constraints dictated that we shelve the USB driving and
use Serial-USB converters (after converting the USB drawers to serial).

Hello All,
We're looking for info on how one might send a signal to open a USB
cash
drawer or perhaps contract someone to write a small plugin or
declare for RB
that will open a USB cash drawer for our OS X Point of Sale
program. This is
the company that makes the cash drawer:

Here is some info on these drawers:

As i said, we just need to send a USB signal to open the drawer but
would
also like to be able to set the USB port, signal and possibly even
include
support for serial cash drawers if possible. Anyone have any info
on how to
do this or are interested in supplying this code on contract?
Thanks!
