That's what I'm getting at - I am using the RectControl's MouseWheel
event to try and move the scrollposition and scrollpositionx values,
but the results are no motion in the editfield regardless of what code
I place in the MouseWheel event (even tried a simple "Beep" with no
result).

I think RB2006 lets you handle scrollwheel events yourself.
If you are on RB5.5 then try my ScrollWheelWindow class at
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?
group_id=81240&package_id=112987 , the only downside
to it is that it will supercede RB5.5 scrollwheel handling for the
given window, meaning you will
have to handle this for all controls in that window yourself. It's not
hard to implement though,
there's an example included in the download.
