I have a need to write a plugin for a USB device that is a data acquisition
board that I am interfacing to a laboratory instrument. While I attended
REAL World 2006, and the "Intro to Plugins" session last week, as a beginner
I am struggling to put the pieces I have together into a working plugin.

What I have:

* a laptop running Ubuntu Linux 5.10 (Debian based distro)
* REALbasic standard running on this machine
* a driver library and running test program (runs in terminal) written in
C/C++ from which I can "see" analog signals coming from the DAQ board and
test other functions
* A partially developed project in REALbasic to display data from the
instrument and write results to a text file
* Visual basic code (written by an individual who has left our company) that
I am using to port the application to RB. I have several other reasons for
porting the VB app to RB/Linux.
* A lab instrument that is not always here ... it gets shipped around for
filed work

I am OK with finishing the port of the application to RB/Linux but don't
know C/C++ and while it appears I have what I need to do this, I need help.

If you are a plugin developer who is able to work in Linux, please contact
me directly ...
