Tony,
How would I correct this with the example I gave?
This was brought up once before as a NON-USA user had issues printing out,
what I thought was a fix was setting the Max Vert and Max Horz setting. But
this it seams is not a true fix.
Example:
// Copyright Notice
g.textSize = 6
g.drawString "Copyright" + Encodings.UTF8.Chr(169) + "2002-2006 -
www.OnclickSoftware.com - All Rights
Reserved.",(g.width-g.stringWidth("Copyright(c)2002-2006 -
www.OnclickSoftware.com - All Rights Reserved."))/2, g.Height-1
Ok with this, how would I correct the Windows printing issue so it will not
be a problem for any user?
I am using RB2005r4 WinPro and it does do it!
Thanks
Jonathon

Subject: Re. PC Printing Issues -- adding a footer to the bottom of the
Hello Matt,
Tony Barry writing from the RB-NUG (digest). Yes, drawString is not
the same as StyledTextPrinter on PC (especially under Win32). Youy will
find that you need to scale up the size of the text you write using
drawString, by the amount [maxResolution / 72]. Thus, if the printer
prints at 300dpi and you want 12 point text, then you scale by 300 / 72
to give 50 point text drawn into the place on the page where your footer
ought to be. Ugly but true. Note this is under RB5.5 - I have not
migrated to 2006 as yet.
Regards,
TB
