Since this is a problem for years, I developed a workaround, which
works even better for me:

This project include a small GUI app, which allows to drag'n'drop
files to a listbox and
then app compiles them to a virtual volume. I finally add the vvol to
a project.
The app includes a sample methods of how to un-vvol them to a folder
'out' and
to a Dictionary
Nothing great, but useful.
