if there's a mySQL odbc driver you should be good to go
I've been using the free Windows:
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html
and commercial Mac OS X:
http://www.actualtechnologies.com/download.php
ODBC drivers for ages, they both work fine.
Haven't tried the 5.0 Windows driver 'cos it's still alpha, I don't
do alpha.
