Not only strange things. Imagine an alias which points to its parent folder (In OS 9, an useful way to open the "Apple Menu Items" folder via the Apple Menu). So you put an alias of "Apple Menu Items Folder" inside itself and you run a code which uses "Item" instead of "TrueItem". You get an infinite loop (very annoying to debug; I had it)
