According to an article on eWeek (no idea how valid?), Apple Stores will pull all non-UB applications from the shelves during the third quarter. This decision will be finalized if the complete Mac line has transitioned to Intel on schedule.

Adobe, Microsoft, and a few other companies are going to get around this requirement by agreeing to offer discounts and other incentives leading to their UB releases. Adobe CS3 will be UB in Q2 of 2007, with a discount offered beyond the normal upgrade discount. MS is now on schedule to update both Office for Windows and Mac at roughly the same time, thanks to the delay of Vista.

So, yes, Apple is telling the trade press that non-UB applications will no longer be promoted by the company in its stores or on its Web sites. This definitely will affect applications coded in REALbasic, unless a UB version ships before the third quarter and everyone quickly recompiles.

It will be an interesting transition. Doesn't affect me, yet, but it would if I wanted any Apple promotion.
