It looks like you are NOT using RB2006?
I know this problems very well, but I just check the RB2006 EditField out...
And there is changes done, like this: EditFieldMonk.Appendtext
monkStr that looks to works much faster
than the old style... you also could load bigger files...

It gave the same result. This time I waited it out. It took 15
minutes for that one line to complete.
