Today, March 29, along with Digests  vol 24  issues 118 etc, I received also 
the issue 99 containing a post of mine and replies sent on March 24 from Seth 
and Phil.

on OSX 10.4.5: Finder -> Preferences - > Advanced - > Show all file extensions

Never thought of that. I could check for a file that every Mac should have (may 
be Safari?)
