I'm going to run an informal announcement here as this is currently a
beta release of a developer tool.
I've near-completed work on my Mac OS X Search Field class. This is
an implementation of the familiar search field found everywhere in OS
X. This implementation can easily be embedded on a window, supports
live search, and "raw" creation - meaning you may embed the control
on any HIView easily.
This class has been tested in OS X 10.4, but not on 10.3. As this
should work in 10.3, I am looking for some help testing it. Anybody
is free to download and use it, but I am specifically interested in
10.3 support. It will not work below 10.3 as the HISearchField it is
based on was not available prior.
In the future, I am planning to add support for the search menu, as
well as embed it into my HIToolbar class. As well, when RB with Cocoa
support is available, I plan on this control work in Cocoa as well.
