In a DB-binding framework, I need to update a record, when the user

Currently, I trigger a write operation, as soon as the field changed some

Although this isn't a problem in general, I'd be happy to save data less
frequently.

Thus: If I get a LostFocus() event, is my Control's data still valid? E.g., if the user changed an EditField's contents, will I be able to access the last *.Text() value? And is the behaviour identical on all platforms?

Is LostFocus() really FocusWillGetLost()?

Hi Stefan,
Yes I realised after I sent that email that I hadn't tested the window close.

The order is .textChange, .SelChange, .LostFocus, .Close, so your .text property will contain the latest info.

Hi Gerard,

thanks, confirmed for OS X. Needs to be tested on Win32.

Thanks for your help!
