I've found this thread quite interesting as several of you have obviously
have had a very different experience than me.

Though I've had lots of releases of Virtual PC over many years, I never
found it truly useful as a developer. Things like drive access, network
connections and interfaces, sound, optical drive access consistently
hindered me. Because of this, I built a Windows PC well before I could
really afford an have an extra computer just for testing. I immediately
found that having a native platform to fully test my windows builds was
invaluable. 

That said, it'll be great if virtualization solves the prior issues that
hindered me. I've just visited http://www.parallels.com so I'll keep you
posted :-)
