Any thoughts on what is being asserted so I can try to build a simpler test
project?

This was on the betas list earlier this morning. One or more classes in your project is implementing an interface that doesn't exist. (Ie, a class has "Foobarbaz" in the Interfaces list). Unfortunately, in certain cases, this assertion happens instead of the nicer error message. The bug has been fixed for the next release.

Unfortunately I can't help narrow it down further than that at the moment.
