FWIW, the combination that's working now is:

Window1, Parent Window, Fullscreen
Window2, Default, Movable Modal

with Window1 bring up Window2 this way:

Window2.ShowModal

I wish that I understood this better, but I have to keep moving along on the
project.

Yes. I've done the same, with the same results. I guess I'll just have to
strip down the project until Window2 starts working to find the problem.
Thanks for the effort.
Paul

In your Forum post, you indicate that Window1 is a fullscreen
plainbox and Window2 is a document window. I just did a simple
project based on all the info that you have provided so far and ran
it on OS10 and Windows XP and it runs perfectly, buttons on Window2
are active just as expected.

What do you suppose is causing the 'clunk?' That sounds like a modal
window instance perhaps hidden behind your fullscreen plain box which
is hogging the focus.

In any event, something else is going on in your project.

Best,

Jack
