Is it just me, or is typing in 2006r2 on Windows faster?

Anyone else notice other speed boosts? I just downloaded it tonight, and
only had a few minutes to verify that it launched and worked. Are compiled
apps faster as well?

Yes it is faster.

Start up Quartz Debug.app and you'll see that the screen now only updates the single line of active text as well as the debug strip, rather than the whole window, every keypress. Somebody did a good job...

The release notes say:

[Fix] [IDE] Typing code for a method is noticeably faster now
