Ok, heres some more info. Make sense to anyone.
When I call the editfield to become visible It puts the Letter N for No
It also Highlights this value So you have a highlighted N
So if I hit enter it beeps
yet if I type over it undoing the select (typing a N) it works
realizing that there is a N there
when you read the text property of a editfield and something is
selected shouldn't it read the whole field ( why should it ignore the
highlighted part. ??? ) any takers on what this might be.

within this code as a big project. There is some dependency
something cant put my finger on it thats causing the problem.
Because why should calling a message box or sending text to another
editfield casue it to work. If my code is bad its bad. Yet doesn't
make sense.
Even by removing the database code just leaving the framework in
the project as a whole causes it not to work. Again something
really strange.

the RETURN key, you'll need to trap its code as well.
