I think that the final decision as to where to open the drawer is
made by the OS, at least for Carbon drawers. NSDrawer has a method
that can be used to force a drawer to open where you want. It is
possible that one could figure out how to make this happen in Carbon
as well.

I got a chance to play with this more this morning. It works well
with multiple drawer windows off of the main window. I just have
one last question for you... Is there a way to make sure that the
window opens on the side specified, regardless of how close the
main windows is to the edge of the screen? Right now I have two
drawer windows, one for the left and one for the right side of the
main window. If the main windows is too close to the left side of
the screen, the left drawer will open on the right side of the main
window, even if the right side drawer is open. With REALbasic's
showwithin property, it will force the window to open on the side
specified, regardless of how close the main windows is from the
edge of the screen.
Thank you very much for the drawer window class!

I looks like this works great! Will this allow you to have
multiple drawers open at the same time on different sides of the
same window?

I have a program that uses three different drawer windows, one
on the left, one at the bottom and then one on the right. I
have them set with the ShowWithin command so that they always
appear on the side that I want them to be. Everything worked
find until a while ago. Now if I move the main window around
when any of the drawers are visible, the drawers seem to resize
themselves randomly. Is this a bug with REALbasic (2006r1) or
with Mac OS 10.4.6? Is there any known workaround? This is
going to drive me nuts!
You might try the drawer code in the Code section of my web site
<http://www.declareSub.com/>.

I don't know; my code certainly wasn't written with that in mind.
If it is possible to attach more than one drawer to a window, then
I expect my code could be modified to do it.
