I do the same, using a mac type which is kind of imaginary. But doing so I feel at the same time that I don't understand the whole concept of filetypes (and so I was ashamed to post my solution)

I understand you, but i am to stupid for that.

The problem is that if you have an MacType in the filter then all files that have that MacType is available in the Dialog boxes. But in the same time, if there is a file that NOT have the MacType, then the Extension is used. And today some MacFiles have a MacType and others not, it bee some confusing.

Or there should be a MacType that mean check Extensions first! (just like XXXX)
