When I launch RB2006 and then use the File-->Open menu to open an xml
file, i get the OpenDialog and could select the xml file, I get an
message that Data would be recovered, but then RB hang (and it
totally dead) without any messages. And when I check in the Activity
Monitor RB is using about 85% CPU.
But nothing happens, I have to use Quit process.
Why? is this an bug in RB?
Yes, I'd say it is. If the XML file is not a valid project, then
it should display some nice error message rather than getting stuck
in some infinite loop (which is what it sounds like it's actually
doing).
Of course, the trigger of this bug is an invalid project; feed it a
valid XML project, and it works fine -- or does so in my
experience, at least. So that may give you a work-around.

Hi and thanks for your response.
Yes the xml file was created by TextEdit as Word XML.
I do this because J.J. told me yesterday, that it should works that way.
So i tested to learn more about it... but that fails in RB.
