Did some testing yesterday. The conclusion was that you get about half the speed of a G5 running at the same clock speed. The Quesa based 3D stuff felt fairly similar though I don't have any numbers to verify it. Some things like extracting pictures was actually a lot quicker on the IntelMac for some reason. Based on other applications, the full speed would be 2-3 times quicker, unless you can make use of the Dual processors. I did a test with a 3D rendering program with support for both Intel and PPC and dual processors. A 1.6 G5 vs a DualCore 1.8 iMac. The iMac was a whopping nine+ times quicker.
