I am looking for support from RS. They have said that versions later
that 4.5 are not guaranteed to work on W95. That does not mean that
such programs are guaranteed to fail.

I had to chime in on this one. I am 99.999% certain that you cannot creates apps to run on Window95 with any version of RB later than 4.5. I have a Windows 95 machine here if anyone needs verification on whether or not their apps work on Windows 95. When I was testing this back in the RB 5.0 - 5.5 days, I compiled a simple app with a pushbutton that had msgbox "hello world", and this app failed to launch on Windows 95 OSR2 with multiple assertion errors.

FYI. If you are testing apps on Windows 98 and expecting them to work on Windows 95, then you are probably in for a rude awakening.

I have one application that is still RB 4.5.3 for this very reason. This is *not* a complaint about RB. I don't think the Windows 95 user base is anywhere near large enough to warrant the effort required to support it, but for those who absolutely need to support Windows 95 clients for whatever reason, then you'll need to stick with 4.5 or earlier.

hth,

Brian
