I am trying to understand "resource forks...I hope someone can help"
I have a file, type "Resorcerer document" which is imported into the project. It contains a resource? type "icns" ID -16455.
So, I try to display this in the backdrop property of a canvas, thus:
me.Backdrop=app.ResourceFork.Getics(-16455)
Can someone possibly explain, without LOL, why this is not working, and how I could get it to work.

There are several types of icon resources. The Getics method returns the 'ics ' 16x16 icon resource type. 'icns' on the other hand is a much later addition to the icons API. It provides 32 bit color with alpha masks and very large icon sizes. To my knowledge, REALbasic does not support the icns resource format (except in the build window for your app). 'icns' sort of came along just as resource forks were beginning to lose their panache, so many resource editors don't even have proper icns editors, whereas they always supported the older formats. (like RB does)
