You've got it backwards, now comparing the password to the MD5 of the MD5 of the previous password. Try renaming the variable that holds the MD5 of the previous password, loaded from the file, as I suggested in my previous reply. Also consider hiring a consultant to work this out for you, off-list -- this thread is probably getting a bit long-winded with not much benefit to other list members.
