Sounds like you're building a preferences window and you want it to show the currently selected preference page in the toolbar like all proper MacOS X apps do.
Last time I checked, the Carbon API had no hooks for this, the solution was to call into the Cocoa API to get the selection-mode. So, you could do all that declare work, using a few of the toolbar extension classes/modules that exist to help ya get started. Or, you could just create your own class that emulates the appearance of the MacOS X preference toolbar. Realize though, that if you create your own class to emulate the native look, there is the very real possability that Apple will change the toolbar appearance and your program will end up looking weird. http://developer.apple.com/documentation/ is the place to go if you want to look into the Apple API http://www.rbgarage.com/ has several native/emulated toolbar solutions in their listings Hope that helps, ~ Tomis --- Sam DeVore <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > so how does one show the toolbar item that is selected or is this not > supported in the built in toolbar? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
