I wouldn't go that far.  There is still a "Find" button in the find dialog that 
lets you just select the next occurrence of the search pattern, without going 
to a search-results tab.  In this case, you might want to replace it with 
something else, too, using the Replace or Replace & Find Next menu commands.  
In order to do that, you need a place to enter the replacement text in the Find 
dialog.

Also, I usually enter the replacement text in the find dialog even when 
planning to do a Find All.  This just gets copied to the replace field in the 
search results tab, but it's still better for me, because I'm thinking of the 
replacement pattern at the same time as the search pattern -- especially 
important when doing complex RegEx search & replace.
