Follow-up to my question from yesterday ... I found the answer. Posting so that anybody in my situation in the future can hopefully find some help ...

Is there any extensive documentation out there on doing Office automation w/ REALbasic? I'm talking about something more advanced than just creating a spreadsheet in Excel and populating a few cells. Something more along the lines of REALbasic's limitations in calling the OLE libraries, some 'cookbook' type examples of how to do certain things, etc. Thus far my searches for help seem to turn up a lot of questions and very few answers in regards to the whole Office automation thing.

If there isn't anything out there ... I'm considering at least writing some tutorials and posting them on my web site.

Hello All,

I'm using RB2006R2, OS X 10.4.6, and Office v.X.

Can anybody offer some pointers on getting the Range.Find function to work? I've tried a number of different things, and I keep getting 'Unknown name, (failed on "Find")'.
...
Here's what I'm doing:

' cell is type ExcelRange, wsWork is type ExcelWorkbook and is properly associated
' with the activesheet of an open workbook.
cell = wsWork.Find("03/14/2003", Nil, Office.xlValues, Office.xlWhole, Office.xlByColumns, Office.xlnext, false, false)

Here's how I got it working:

cell = worksheet.columns(1).Find("03/14/06", worksheet.Range("A1"), Office.xlValues, Office.xlWhole, Office.xlByColumns, Office.xlnext, false, false)
