I don't know much about RB 2005 r4, but could it be that REAL changed
the string encoding from simple ASCII (Mac/Win) to UTF-8 in the
update from 2005 to 2006?
This would be the reason why all special chars are fine now, but key
codes are changed.
Just an idea, to start your bugsearch...
