Could also be a theme ? A special looking menu on behalf of linux,
and some other than standard menu toolkit ? Anyway, even though
you are running in KDE, Gnome apps do run if you have the gnome
libraries, but your milage may vary on the look of them.
But unless RB does some kind of magic (read hack), the menus will
look like this in rb made apps. Try loggin into gnome and see what
happens with the menus.
