Assuming that your audience has good hardware [CPU and memory] Java and Eclipse's SWT
might be a good option.

And EJTech's exe4j [ http://www.ej-technologies.com/products/exe4j/ overview.html ] generates
EXE file from JARs too.

If your client have few resources, I wonder, if Java would be a good choice.

You should write a new EditField for RB that uses NSTextField underneath. That way it will be 100% OS X compliant. And while your at it, get this text field working on Windows, Linux and OS 9 too.
