Partly OT: I signed my last posting using a free CACert.org certificate.
Since I imported CACert's root cert, emails work fine here in general.
On the other hand, each signed email comes back from RBs list manager
with a - somehow - broken certificate: Apple.Mail reports problems
while verifying the certificate.
Does someone know why?

No problem here: XMLDictionary should parse the file without
a problem.
At least, XMLDictionary can export as plist.
